I'll certainly be out there in coming weeks trying to capture some pix.
For this week, the Great Red Spot is best placed at 10:23pm on Wednesday and Friday nite at midnight.

Jupiter's orbit: 5 AU
Earth's orbit: 1 AU

Current separation is 4 AU and Jupiter is a 50" in size. Not much larger than last year's pass but it sure beats Saturn at 18"

And much better than when Jupiter is farthest away- something like 630 million miles. What is the in AU? ~7? 4 is sounding pretty good! :lol: :lol: :lol:
