Comet C/2018Y1 Iwamoto

Unread post by TimW »

This comet just made it's closest approach to earth. It is currently located in the constellation of Cancer with an approximate magnitude 5 which makes it visible in binoculars. It's a fast mover and is projected to dim to a magnitude 7.4 by March 1st.

And it should be clear on Saturday night :-) BUT upon checking it turns out that the comet will be in close proximity to Luna and not be observable. :-(
