Got an Eclipse Pic? Post it here!

Unread post by NGC7000 »

I managed to get an "in the trees" image or two of the lunar eclipse this morning as it neared totality. Anybody get a clear shot?

I tried to capture the lunar eclipse in an attempt to make a time-lapse video. I used a Nikon D750 DSLR on a tripod. Starting at about 3:10AM I took a picture every minute for 166 minutes. The eclipse was full by then and Sun starting to rise. I then used photoshop to crop/center each image, adjust levels, and do some noise reduction. I then used Cyberlink Power Direct 15 to create the time lapse. About 160 minutes worth of images condensed down to about 2:30 second video.

My last submittal should have been a GIF video.... turned out to be a still.

Having trouble attaching a video file... any suggestions?

Hi Roger,

The GIF is working fine, and what's rather cool about it is that at first it appears to be a still, then as you read your post you start to notice subtle changes, like on the order of "maybe I should get a psych eval", then you suddenly realize what's really happening.

Excellent sequence compilation!
