I was able to get out last night to image M16. I wanted to capture 45 exposures of 4 minutes with ZWO ASI071 attached to 5 inch refractor, but clouds came in after only about 25 exposures. This was a test exposure for me. I want to compare this image taken with a one-shot CMOS camera to one that I plan on taking using narrowband processing with a monochrome CMOS camera and LRGB, and Ha filters.
M16 is also known as the Star Queen Nebula. It contains the famous 'pillars of creation". This huge gas cloud contains several star forming regions.

Very nice Roger, and a lot less expensive than Hubble!
