M53 Globular Cluster

Unread post by menardre »

I was able to image M53 for about an hour last night. My scope then did a meridian flip and I was not prepared, so I stopped after about 30 images of 2 minutes each. This was taken with 130mm refractor and ZWO ASI 071 camera. Images Plus used for fairly basic image processing. M53 is unique in that it is very far from galactic center (60,000 light years). It is also about that distance from us.

Very nice indeed. I've never been able to capture down into a globular with pinpoint stars like this.

Wow Roger very nice. Nothing like a good refractor to get those pinpoint stars!

That's really nice, Roger. Perfect focus and tracking. And processing globulars is not an easy task. Keep 'em coming.
