Very nice, Tim, What scope did you get, and what camera are you using?

Interesting, Tim. Looks like about a 20' FOV, and typical solar gradiant of brightening towards the limb. Maybe less exposure would garner more detail? Looking forward to further experimentation.

Contact this guy: www.ww4rf.net. His name is Don Wright. Mention me. I met him at Stellafane. He's a great guy - salt of the earth - and he might be able to help you get things in place before next Monday.

So far, I cant seem to bring in detail evenly across the entire solar surface all at once. I cropped out the parts that didnt resolve well at this particular filter setting.

My live stream of the transit will be in regular while light with a standard eclipse filter. Ill take stills with the H Alpha.

Yes, there is a big gradient shift from the center out to the limb with the Sun, and to include proms you'll blow out the Sun entirely. When people post up their images it's almost always a combine of at least two different exposure sets to get all the details in one image. Past member Bill Lee did some solar imaging for awhile with the exact scope you're using. He might be a good resource too. https://www.facebook.com/william.j.lee
