Will there be clear skies anywhere?

Unread post by TimW »

I know it's still more than a week out but I've checked weather forecasts everywhere along the totality path for the upcoming eclipse from the Mexican border in Texas up to northern Maine and can't find clear skies anywhere.

It's a crap shoot for sure. Will probably be driving up to the Canadian border and home the same day if the forecast is favorable..

At this point Monday's forecast for Dallas doesn't look promising, while some friends planning on VT told me the forecast there looks good- oh the danger of making decisions based on statistics!

I am so primed for this eclipse. Got solar glasses from last event and have made up Baader film lens caps for both binoculars.

The Vermont forecast seems to be better than anywhere else under the path. Traffic is expected to be heavy and slow up and back.
