Are You a Reader?

Unread post by Apollo XX »

If so, maybe you'd be interested in participating in some book reading/discussion programs? The SSAS began a One Book One Club initiative last year where several members from that group and a few folks from ASSNE read Packing For Mars by Mary Roach. A discussion session was held last December at Steve L.'s Cosmic Coffeehouse event, where about a dozen people weighed in with their impressions of the book. People were honest and constructive in their reviews, and everyone agreed that we should have another go at it.

Interestingly, the recently-retired director of the West Bridgewater Public Library attended the SSAS January meeting to promote her One Book One Community Bridgewater Area initiative, the current theme of which is space science fiction books. Thus, depending on what you fancy - fiction or non fiction - we have books for both. The posters below fill out the details. One note - the 1st book for the SSAS group is not widely available in libraries, but can be bought used for a pittance on-line. I paid $4 with shipping for my copy.
