Has anyone tried this? I'm nosing around for "something different" and astro spectroscopy came to my attention.
Tracking asteroids and documenting variable stars has some merit as the data is valuable when reported. Don't know if that's the case with spectroscopy..........

Pete:
The AAVSO has a spectroscopy program. They've got specific target stars and observing guidelines. You can even find links on their website to videos that talk about the value of amateur monitoring of spectra.
