Current evening objects suitable for newbies

Unread post by Pete »

Tuesday night will hopefully be clear enough for my annual Backyard Astronomy class to observe from Barrington, and I'm putting together an observing list of objects that are easily viewed thru my 14" and that are examples of what we view.

The class runs from 18:30 - 20:30, and it'll be dark enough to start at 19:30. The current list includes
Albireo
M13
M57
Saturn
Neptune
Jupiter
M31
NGC 457 (the Owl Cluster)

Any suggestions as to more objects for the list, taking into account limitations of light pollution and the observatory's local horizon? Feedback greatly appreciated.
