Do we really want it "brighter than the full moon for a year" as they're saying? I suppose it'd be cool, nonetheless...

While it will wreck havoc for astro-imaging, How cool would it be to see a (close) nova in our lifetime. Even if it last a year :?:

Although the detection isn't directionally specific, and the nature of the find (method) is susceptible to false alarms, it is interesting that LIGO found a gravitational wave coming from that vicinity on 14th January 2020.
