I kept an eye on the sky all day today and kept my fingers crossed that conditions would allow me to capture asteroid Iris and its close passage to M104 - the Sombrero Galaxy. I got all set up and was ready to start taking images and I looked up and saw an overcast sky. VERY frustrating, to say the ...

Pete and Dan - nice team effort. This is really, really cool stuff. The only thing left to image is the 'wall of white' which signifies the flash of light from the Big Bang. It's out there, I KNOW it is.....

Dan,

As a pharmacist, I'm quite sure there's a medication available for you.

Holy Cow, ED!!!! That is an exquisite image that you made!!! That is an absolutely beautiful capture and your processing maintained its natural appearance. This time however, I noticed that pixel x=24,235 y=156,762 is out of contrast. Don't worry though, it is one of the BLACK pixels. http://img156....

Huh, go figure... I was out polar aligning last night too!! I recently disassembled my G-11 Equatorial head and re-lubed all the gears and bearings and polished it up and re-installed it on my pier. So my next goal was to polar align it PERFECTLY. When I built by dome in 1997, I could see Polaris ab...

Well, everyone seems to be in agreement here that the Telrad ROCKS!!!! I've used one for years on my Celestron SCT's. BUT, I have a different scope now and my old Telrad looks klunky on the new tube and I'm trying to watch my weight. Was thinking of getting a smaller finder of the same 1-power type....

I liked the way we all chipped in with image processing tips and hints. It was more of a group discussion, rather than a lecture and I think it was beneficial to all. I addition, I suggest that we should hold such sessions in the future as people experiment and come up with more processing discoveri...

Ed,

Pixel number X=279,986 Y=195,348 is a bit blurry, otherwise, this is a fine image.

Pete,

I think you said May 12th, when in fact it is THIS upcoming meeting, April 12th.

Also, I want to encourage others to bring their images and questions and we can try to learn together.

Steve

You're quite right Steve. Correction made above.
