Re: Operators Standing By
I still have the certificate somewhere in its frame. For me it brings back some nice memories, so even though it's a scam the meaning of that piece of paper is worth the 50 bucks she paid for it. And that's exactly why I'm saying it's not a scam. In scams people get hurt. I've yet to meet anyone wh...

Re: Observing Double Stars
When observing multiple stars one can be as casual or as disciplined as you like. There is both beauty and science in a binary system, and you never run out of targets or challenges.

Re: For Those That Are Learning The Sky
A very good post.
I got a friend interested enough in astronomy that he bought a 8 inch f/6 dob. The first thing we found together by star hopping was the Andromeda galaxy. No one ever just says "oh, wow!" to that view; philosophical discussion always follows.

Observing Double Stars
Since I have been posting my double star observations I've been fielding some questions from those who have taken some interest in those reports. So I have written a journal article on observing visual double stars. I hope you find it interesting.

Re: Oh For The Love of a Small Telescope
Nice work, my romantic friend. It don't get much better than a long focus Mak. I, too, enjoy the views from a small telescope. My 80ED Celestron refractor is a great 'scope, and when paired with University Optics orthos leaves nothing to be desired.
