Re: I bought a piece of the MOON!

Mike,

I was so enamored by that piece of the moon, that I went out in search of a larger chunk.

Re: I bought a piece of the MOON!

Congratulations Mike, You are now a Lunar Landlord!! I bought a sample, also. Same Northwest Africa region, but I don't know what the number designation means. Here's a post from nearly a year ago. https://assne.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=6902&p=53063&hilit=lunar+meteorite#p53063 Steve

Crater Close-Up

This is Crater Petavius taken on the night of October 11th. Seeing conditions were quite good!! I used a ZWO ASI178MM webcam, Celestron 11” SCT, and 2x Barlow Captured 7500 frames at about 15 frames per second with SharpCap. Top 1500 frames were aligned and stacked with AutoStakkert3 Wavelets with R...

Re: Floating Above Luna

Hi Roger, Thank you. I am currently locked into using the ZWO webcam for a while. First Saturn (see my post), then Jupiter and Mars. Of course, there are MANY targets on the moon as it changes phases. I also use this set-up for my solar images. It is a rather more-enjoyable way to take astro images,...

Floating Above Luna

Sometimes I imagine what it must be like to peer out the window of a capsule, adrift above the moon. What a glorious sight it must be!! But then again, I'm a homebody and I get motion sickness just riding an escalator. Why take the 240,000 mile journey, when I can get a similar view while standing i...

Some Saturn Stuff

Hello!! I hope you've been getting out there on these cool, clear nights to take a look at the ringed-planet. For the past 2-3 weeks, I've been testing various methods of acquiring some images. The attached were taken with a ZWO 290MC webcam riding on the back of a Celestron 11" SCT. Dome at Ni...

Re: M110 (NGC 205) Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy

Nice work.
I was wondering if you’d catch some of the dark nebulae near the core and there it is!!
