Rooftop version 2.2
The interior walls are finished with 1" pink foam insulation covered with plain old tar paper stapled on...this was a quick and cheap way to go, it's dark and durable. The floor is 1/2" foam cushion sold at Harbor freight and is soft to the feet for spending long periods in the dome. I hav...

Roof top Observatory
I would be pleased to re-post my observatory photos if I could figure out how to make it work...Pete has sent me numerous emails telling me how to do it but, alas, I guess I'm deeply computer/internet/Imageshack challenged!

Celestron cable
Bob,
I have a new CGEM Celestron mount that came with a cable that has 9 pin serial at one end and a four pin phone jack type cable at the other and is used to connect a computer to the mount...if this is what you need, you can use mine.

Rooftop Observatory

Without a pier, it may not be the best thing for astrophotography but, it sure is nice to be off the lawn; no bugs, sheltered f...

CDD color camera WITHOUT filters!
Thanks guys, You have saved me $$$ in filter purchases that I don't need. This is why clubs like ASSNE are so important! Yes, Pete, I am the guy who builds airplanes AND telescopes among other things. If I could figure out how to put a photo on this group site, I would do so, so you all could see wh...

Newbie filter confusion
I am new to astrophotog. and am confused about which filter to use. I have a color Meade DSI and wondered if the Oxygen 3 or an Orion Ultrablock is the way to go, to work with emission nebulae like M42. I have followed some of the threads from Cloudy Nights and the O3 seems to be the way to go. Yet,...
