Re: Canon 450D NGC7000 Ha
Thanks for the new tip Roger! I'm declaring this image an unfinished canvas.

Re: Canon 450D NGC7000 Ha
Thanks Tom!~ There is more to come on this image. It seems I combined the Ha in grey scale and not the red channel! In between Greenland and Nova Scotia, there is some grey area that clued me in on this. Crap, in my excitement of finding new processing methods, I made a basic mistake. Another re-do ...

Re: Canon 450D NGC7000 Ha
This is a combo of the previously posted Ha image (4 hours @ five minute subs) with a processed image of 4 hours @ 2 minute subs using a UV/IR filter on my old modded Canon Rebel from light polluted Bristol. These were taken on an average night sky wise with a Skyguider Pro (guided) Used Images Plus...

Re: Sharpless 101 (Sh2-101) Emission Nebula
Roger, glad you got the computer sorted out. I have been struggling with SGP locking up, on one of my laptops as well as the camera dropping off line. I first suspected the DSLR and cabling, then power to the DSLR ( I use an AC adapter) then the powered USB hub (AC too) even the mouse was acting up....

Re: M56 Globular Cluster
I too am curious about your two minute exposures. Roger, why do you mainly shoot @ 2 minutes and not, say, 5 minutes?

Re: Trouble loading image to forum
Pete, This is a processed test image of 4 subs 10 darks and 10 flats. I wonder if the flats were not enough? I use a white screen for the flats at .05 seconds each one. Curiously, The sample image was one of several I made with two different DSLR's, different amount of subs and flats and darks, and ...

Re: Trouble loading image to forum
OK, Here is the suspect image that may, may not be vignetting. Roger, after your comments, I looked at the 80mm objective lens and sure enough, it was quite dusty and actually had a smear on it. The reducer/flattened also was dusty. So, cleaned everything and will try again. Thanks for the help. 450...

Canon 450D NGC7000 Ha
Getting back into imaging after a year away and trying to get up to speed for Stellafane. Boy, you forget a lot of stuff! This about 4 hours of five minute subs with an old modded Canon 450D/Ha clip-in filter/180mm Nikon lens/Skyguider Pro/ZWO guide scope from backyard in Bristol. As usual, I tend t...
