Re: Here She Comes...

Wow!!! That is very impressive, Mike. Venus is making a death dive now, and it is fascinating to see how fast she's dropping out of the sky. From our perspective, of course... And yet retaining that high magnitude of -4.5!

Re: Unexpected Clear Skies and the Trifid Nebula

Very nice, Steve! Great stars and fantastic extension on the nebulosity. You've caught some faint nebulosity way out to nearly the upper center and over to 3 o'clock. And the details in the center of the Trifid are very sharp. Nice way to make up for the Celts loss, BTW.

Certainly, your Ha channel is showing why M101 contains about 10 distinctly numbered NGC objects. This is one co...

Okay, then, see if I venture any more guesses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dewey.

Immediately above, please find a non-lengthy correction to an erroneous notation of an observation in a previous, unflagged, entry. Which was not made by me.

Well, Bill, the Subaru might be cozy, especially if Alcyone is a quadruplet.

Re: What's This? #10

shhhh, don't tell Bill, but it was a lucky guess.... Man, these things are like getting lost at a rally - you really get to know the surrounding countryside. I spent more time than I care to admit reviewing every constellation in the vicinity of Orion and Taurus, and reviewed about 25 double ...
