Re: Measuring Quasar redshift with a spectrometer

Pete,

What prevents a less expensive camera- even way expensive camera with USB3, such as the ASI224 from bringing you closer to your goals?
It sounds like the experience and knowledge you have gained from your efforts should not be left in a state of hiatus again.

FACT OF THE DAY:

The gas cloud surrounding the stars in the constellation Aquila contains enough alcohol to make 400 trillion pints of beer.

Thank you Daniel. Did you have any experience observing this yourself? Is it bright enough to observe with a small scope?

Re: M49 Giant Elliptical Galaxy

Amazing how many of those smaller galaxies you captured along with it, Roger.

As always, a triumph, even with the challenging frustration of repeated processing and uncooperative pixels. :D

Remarkable pix, Frank. Looks like he knows his way around Pixinsight.

Yes, more kids like him is what we need!

Stunning image, Roger. I never tire of seeing this wonderful gathering, and you've done it real justice.

Re: Goodbye Orion

Thank you, Roger, Depending on the sensor, you can fit the Horsehead and M42 up to a 180mm lens.

And Steve, Rotate if you must, but gyrating the image to Space Cowboy is far more exotic.
