Both are excellent images. I go with the first one because of the color.

Steve, Very nice sequence. Were you outside all the time? If so, now that's awesome.

Re: Short subs VS long subs
This is a thread I want to watch closely. I do not yet have enough experience to know the answer. I seem to have better success with shorter exposure and more of them, but I have no idea why. I also feel the level of light pollution is a major factor. When I'm up in Maine it seems longer exposures a...

Re: Beginner telescope suggestions
I presently own two Explorer Scientific refactors. They are both triplets and certainly not "beginner's scopes". But Explorer Scientific has now a line of telescopes that are specifically designed for the beginner. Their "First Light" series of scopes seem a very good place to st...

You PUNTED? Well as a formal real punter, I say this image was a 70 yarder that went out of bounds on the at the other team's 1 yard line. Awesome image.

Re: Beginner telescope suggestions
Very interesting topic, as we all have been approached by someone for recommendations as to a "first" telescope. Your first scope is as important as your first "bat" used in Little league. It's got to fit the user. And especially fit the buyers pocketbook. First telescopes purcha...

Comet 21P
Has anyone seen 21P yet. It is supposedly just over mag 7. It will skirt M36,37 &38 and on the morning of the 15th it goes right through M35. It just passed Capella. Hopefully the mag is correct and we should get some images, weather permitting.
