Hi Steve,
I knew the Cosmic Coffeehouse was a thing that you had planned to do. Sadly I didn't see the reminder till after the get together. Maybe I will catch the next one if it's a night that I am not working.
Lets hope for another memorable night in astronomy.

Possible Meteor Storm
On Monday night into Tuesday we could possibly be treated to a meteor storm of over 1000 meteors per hour. This is a result of us passing through the fragmented debris of 73P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 3 which many of us observed breaking up in our own telescopes. The ideal time to see the cosmic display ...

Hubble finds largest comet ever.
NASA confirmed a few days ago that the Hubble telescope has found the largest ever comet C/2014 UN271 (Bernardinelli-Bernstein). It should arrive here in 2031 at 1 billion miles away from the earth. All the information on the comet can be found here on the NASA website. https://www.nasa.gov/feature/...

Re: Operators Standing By
I like Steve have a star named after me. It was giving to me by a former girlfriend who was so happy "smiling from ear to ear" when she presented it to me. I didn't have the heart to tell her that it wasn't real. It was a Valentines gift and the next day we went out to buy a frame for it. ...

Re: 2022 NEAF *Cancelled*
Looking on many astronomy websites, if you are trying to order many things they are simply out of stock or on back order. With the war in Ukraine this may not be the only NEAF that is canceled. Especially if China decides to back Russia. Then there would be sanctions against Chinese made goods. Whic...

The Repair Shop
On the Discovery Channel is a show called The Repair Shop. It deals with restoring old objects that people bring into them. The latest episode (Season 5 Episode 16) has them restoring a pretty impressive hand-built telescope. It is the latest episode so it may be a day or two before its available on...

Leave it to you Steve, not only to locate James Webb but image it. Great job and I thought I was the only person still using the Guide program.

Re: No, it's NOT cheese
Steve, Very nice slice of lunar rock you have there. Glad you got a COA with it. I always tell those who are interested in buying meteorites to always do back ground checks and make sure that they are registered members of International Meteorite society. Here is a detailed write up about your parti...
