I've never tried the SharpCap focusing aids. I use a Bahtinov mask.

Resident expert...HA. That's funny. The SharpCap polar alignment utility can be a bit tricky but works very well. First off you need to make sure your already within 5 degrees of the north celestial pole. If you can see Polaris then you should be close enough. You also need to make sure your camera ...

I'll be hosting a stargazing event on Oct 28th with a planetary theme. All the outer planets, including the moon will be viewable and during the course of the event, I plan on photographing them all.

I store all my photos locally on my PC then upload them to wherever I want to share them at the moment which is usually here or on Facebook.

In a couple days, the sun will have rotated enough to put this prominence on the disk's edge so I can hopefully get a side view of it. I just hope it doesn't subside by then and the weather cooperates.
