Very well done and nice color detail for only 40 minutes of integration time.

https://astrob.in/363023/0/rawthumb/gallery/get.jpg?insecure Details are on Astrobin as far as equipment, integration, and software used. Not my best, as I've gotten out of practice a bit w/PixInsight, but at least the 12 month imaging drought is over. :D I'm off to the next target assuming the wea...

Re: Best intro - intermediate new EQ mount.
Mark, Good choice. As far as supporting ‘Local Business’ well...they are based in Woburn, MA, but 100% manufactured in China like most. However, the owner lives in Sharon, MA so that’s something... I had an AVX prior to this and only use it for outreach now as its noisy and wouldn’t handle my 5” tri...

Don,

Re: Best intro - intermediate new EQ mount.
Don B. and I both have the iEQ45 Pro's. It weighs in around 25lbs and can handle around 45lbs. You'll need this if you want to mount a 130/5" or greater later...and it has an optional tri-pier and extension for refactors which you'll probably want later. You can then switch between the tri-pier...

The impact of transparency and seeing...
For those climbing the learning curve here, I thought I'd share a couple of single frames of IC5146 / Coccoon Nebula from different evenings. IC5146_Cocoon_Nebula_2018-08-06_22-12-50.jpg Both frames are from the same camera, scope and filter (red) and exposures shot on different nights and loaded in...

Bias and Darks, Yes. Flats, by their very nature, No.

Re: How many darks, flats, bias?
@TimW, No need to do that unless you change gain/offset or the camera driver for the ZWO 1600MM-C, which is the same camera I use. Setup the scope inside the house, no mount is even needed really, just set it on a stable flat surface where your dovetail can rest comfortably. Make sure the scope is c...
