Re: DEATH VALLEY NIGHTS

I am totally green with envy, Tom, but it's ameliorated a bit by my enjoyment of your travelogue, as always. Umm, so, were there any stars out around your namesake nebula????  I like your capture of Antares and both of the globulars surrounding it. Nice. For some reason, I think that few ...

Re: What's This? #13!!! Fastest Reveal EVER, by Paul!!

Bill, it certainly was the most unusual comet that I, or perhaps any of us, had seen. Mark came to my house on the first day of the outbreak, and we had to put my dob about two feet from the street in order to see Perseus at a really low angle over the trees. We must have studied that beast for two ...

Re: Ok so its not Astronomy

Storm images are always cool. That is a nice shear line, and could easily have generated a rotating cloud. But nothing like the storm we drove through on the way home from Stellafane a couple of years ago, eh, Paul? We were watching six or seven black cells hanging out of a shear line, with pouring ...

Do you suppose it's too late to ask Paul to order some nice club-logo straight-jackets for us? :P :P  With monogrammed names on them?

Re: What's This? #12! #12 #12...

If there are wolves and buffalo in this image, it must be an Indian face on the moon. And even though there were no buffalo in Florida or Indiana, I'm guessing Osceola or Tecumseh who both had head dresses with horizontal feathers rather than vertical. My big problem with Rorschack tests is that I a...

Re: What's This? #12! #12 #12...

Wow, good eyes, Pete!!! Man, that skull is so obvious once you've pointed it out. And there appears to be a ghostly 'Greek comedy mask' above the moon image in the dark edge of the clouds. Dr. Rorschach, indeed   Okay, final guess (until the next hint :P ) - A cloudy moon, imaged as a refl...
