Impossible Dream? Woof Woof

Unread post by Paul D »

After years of this astronomy thing there is one target that is technically on paper easy to get but hard to find. Well this year and for the next upcoming years this target is going to be at its best. To get it this year will require that you get up early in October. The elusive target is Sirius B. Its orbit is taking it away from Sirius A from our perspective. The secret finding it in October is dawn. As the sun rises it will brighten the sky and reduce the glare of Sirius A which should make seeing 8th mag Sirius B easier. There are more suggestions and secrets in a full article in Octobers Sky & Tel magazine.

I've had several go's at this since mid-December, but no joy yet. I'm going to keep pointing a scope at this every chance I get, 'cause you never know when you're going to get a lucky moment or two of very steady seeing. For now this carrot is still out there.
