Okay, I might as well try this photo thing. Taken this evening with my wife's digital, no bulb setting, no tripod, so just rested the camera on a rock at PGP and let it rip.

Bill, did you remember to look over your shoulder and see the ISS trailing the Shuttle at 1710??? Very pretty. I took a shot at them, but it was too dark by then, and only the ISS came out.

Very nice, Bob! It's great to see someone else's photos.
No, I didn't even check to see if the ISS and Shuttle were visible - DANG!

Nice job Bob! Great job on the processing! Is that a stacked image?
They were very bright last night. They were so prominent in the sky that my mother called me and wanted to know what the unusual stars were to the south. She was surprised to find out they were actually planets. I told her to keep watching each night as they get closer to each other.

LUNA JOINS THE FRAY!!!
The moon barely crept into the field tonight, down by the telephone pole. Tomorrow it will be below the two planets, and on Monday it will be above them, and closer than tomorrow's conjunction.
Once again, from atop a rock pile at PGP:
Almost forgot: the distance between the planets did not seem to drop tonight. Venus seems to have slid directly below Jupiter, but not any closer.
