Leo Triplet - Going fast! - July 2008

Unread post by BobSikes »

Once upon a springtime there was a lion. A mighty lion full of stars and galaxies and other cool stuff. But now Leo sinks into the western horizon not too long after the Sun. So ...

Last call for the Leo Triplet of galaxies. This should be tough in the twilight, but if you have a low western horizon and no light pollution, you might still spot M65, M66 and the one Messier missed NGC 3628.
You will find them just under the base of the rear triangle. Good luck!

For a nice description of these galaxies check out this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Triplet

Please post the results of your attempts at the triplet, successful or not.
