Have we picked a time/day to remove the 16" from the pier & attempt the repair? I have Saturday afternoon after 3 pm available.

Hi all,

Friday's out because of the weather. We need a bright dry day. The observatory is too dark to "operate" in if we can't open the dome. Saturday might work. But not too early. We'll have to see how the weather plays out.

The forecast for the weekend has improved. Seems the front from the midwest has sped up.

Mar 29 Saturday
Sunny along with a few clouds. High around 40F. Winds NW at 15 to 25 mph.

Mar 29 Saturday night
A mostly clear sky. Low near 25F. Winds NNW at 15 to 25 mph.

Mar 30 Sunday
Sunny. Highs in the mid 40s and lows in the low 30s.

Let's shoot for Saturday afternoon. I'll get there around 2, open the observatory up, and run the scope drive. Once help arrives we can proceed with dismounting the scope and opening the base.
