AVI conversion distortion problem work-around

Back on Feb 4th Tripp finished his senior project with what we hoped to be a 6 image composite photo of the Moon. Since beginning use of the Celestron NexStar 5 planetcam the AVI video images themselves are fine, but they become distorted in Registax. The camera's 2592 X 1944 pixel output has a width to height ratio of 1.33 to 1. But the Registax images are stretched extra wide, and come up in Photoshop as 720 X 480 pixels.

Although I re-proportioned the composite from the 6 merged frames the result was poor:


By resetting individual frame size to 2592 X 1944 pixel as soon as the tif files are loaded into Photoshop, the resolution of the composite increases greatly:


Apparently images directly posted to the board are limited to around 900 pixels in width. Actual resolution is 4X what's shown. Haven't fully explored this yet, but there's a possibility that by resetting an image size through the PS pixel area the full resolution of the camera came into play.
