NGC 2903 and 1st imaging tutorial

Unread post by menardre »

Last night (2/20/2017) I tried to image NGC 2903 using my Nikon D750 connected to my Stellarvue 90mm refractor. It was also the first time using SGP. At the same time a attended the 1st ASSNE imaging tutorial session hosted by Ron B. He did a fantastic job of walking us though his set-up and then demonstrating how SGP works. With his help I was able to use SGP to focus and acquire images. Focusing took several attempts because I had to determine the focuser step size appropriate for focusing.

Attached is the image of NGC 2903.

Thanks to Ron for his help, and for hosting the tutorial session. Hopefully this is something we can do more often to help us new to astrophotography.

Very neat Roger. I'd have enjoyed viewing the tutorial myself but was too busy stargazing last night.
