While out imaging Venus yesterday as part of a long term project I've been working on, I scanned the sky towards the east and happened upon good 'ol Luna. She was looking pretty in her 22% crescent so I took her picture. In this image of the view through the eyepiece one can easily make out the Sea of Crises https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mare_Crisium at just about the center of the picture. This feature, like most of the mare on the moon is naked eye visible under dark conditions, and sometimes even in the day as well.

Hey Mike!
Really nice image! This has always been one of my favorite areas to explore.
Keep up the good work!

Re: A Little Daytime Crises
Thanks for the jolt Mike. The measuring lunar mountain height project I'm mentoring might be practical in the daylight if Photoshop can enhance shadow contrast.......
