M13 / NGC 6905, C8 EdgeHD, ASI1600MCC

I think a few folks will remember I started this AP journey a little over a year ago. One of my first targets was M13 due to it's brightness and size. The original was @ 900mm of FL using PHD 2 and a guide scope for the first time.



Here's an updated version of the same target, but this time with my new C8 EdgeHD, .7x Focal Reducer (1422mm), 2" IDAS Filter, Celestron OAG, and the ASI1600MCC cooled to -10C. This one has a full set of 100 Bias, 40 Darks, 100 Flats and 45 x 240 second frames used out of 60.



I blew out HD150998 and HD150679 just a bit. The first round of M13 test images was done at 300 seconds and both of these were really overcooked. I reduced down to 240 seconds hoping for the best, but probably could have reduced the exposure time even slightly more.

Wow! That's exactly how it looks in my 50mm refractor on a new moon night!

Well OK, maybe there's a few less stars than that. And I don't usually see that galaxy either.
