Two recent supernovae

Unread post by AndyG »

Two supernovae were discovered on May 28th. Here are a couple quick images I grabbed from the remote obs on 6/13. The first one, in NGC 4125, should be visible in an 8-10" scope at it's current 13.0 magnitude. The second one, in M66, is currently at magnitude 14.1 and would be more of a challenge. S&T Article

Tonight might be a good night to try and bag them visually if you are up for a challenge!

Nice captures, Andy.

My new Astro-Physics 1100GTO arrived this week. I'm scared.

Congratulations on the new mount! You're gonna love it. It think you'll be amazed at how perfectly it work straight out of the box.
