Sombrero Galaxy

Here's the Sombrero Galaxy, Messier 104, imaged during last month's new moon from the remote observatory in New Mexico.

Andy,

THAT is just unreal! I've never seen such reflecting luminosity surrounding this wondrous edge-on galaxy. The surrounding stars are just beautiful. I've seen some great images from you, but this one is my favorite to date. Just awesome!!

Outstanding, Andy! I'm hoping to get a good visual look at this during this new moon period, perhaps at MSSF.

I know you've been a big fan of SGP for a long while now, so of course I'm curious what enhancements you've incorporated into ADG-HB? Very interesting! 8)

Just spectacular Andy. This is another one of my all-time favorites. If I'm only able to get something a tenth that good, I'll be happy. Thanks again for sharing.

Andy,

This is certainly among your finest, and there's been some great ones. There is detail along the edge as well as on the disk itself. And that glow was just perfectly captured. Some of your stars in the background are out-of-focus, however. They look like hazy little blobs.

Andy besides myself all of us have responded with all the adjectives possible to describe what you have shown what happens when you get everything together. It takes a lot of talent as well as skill plus a little$$$$$. The only thing I think all of us would like to see is your wonderfull images published in national geographic or sky and telescope. yes they are that good. In fact for myself I even would consider buying one of your images to make a print that I could have for inspiration to remind me of what is required to suceed in this artform. The only adjective I would use to sum them up would be inspirational. Again thank you for your efforts. That gives me an idea for a new form of competition for Stellafane, how about an astro photography competition, and let the attendees pick the winner. This is one subject that seems to have been overlooked. Jerry
