An Orion Christmas

Last week while it was clear I got out to the driveway with the Astrotrac and a 100mm Nikon lens on the DSLR. Took 25 2 minute subs @ ISO400 and combined them in Images Plus. I was amazed that I got all of this ( including Barnard's Loop) without an Ha fliter. I did use the CLS filter made for DSLRs.

I think it's got a real Christmas feel to it.

I had a very nice time at the party last night and it was great fun seeing so many friends.

Merry Christmas to all!

Wow, Tom, my jaw just hit the floor when I saw that one. Incredible image!

I guess that CLS filter is a win.

Very nice Tom. Sometimes we forget that all you need is a DSLR a lens and a tripod to capture the beauty of the heavens.

Way cool Tom. Is that the horsehead nebula at the top? AND the Christmas party was great.
