The Cygnus Wall

Unread post by AstroGeek »

Here is an image of the "Mexico" portion of the North America Nebula. It is a region where glowing hydrogen gas is interacting with an opposing force of black, sooty material. I took this image over the past couple of weeks from my backyard observatory. 5" Tak refractor, STT-8300 ccd camera, 30 minutes each with red, green, and blue filters, 150 minutes with H-alpha filter. Processed with DeepSkyStacker and Photoshop CS5.

And a blue moon image, for good measure.
