Here's an object we spent some time viewing at the club trip to MSSF last month. I thought I'd try imaging it, so here it is.

M56 Globular Cluster in Lyra
Re: M56 Globular Cluster in Lyra
When I went back to the campsite I looked at it through my 4.5" reflector. It didn't look like this.
Looks great Andy! Even better than in the 20".

Beautiful Andy- I always see your images and say "WOW"... then I see "click for higher resolution" and I wonder how it could possibly get any better- then I click and am blown away!

Andy,
Very nice! The stats on this cluster (like many of the things we look at) are hard to imagine.... It is 33 lt. yrs away from earth, 84 lt. yrs across and is 13.7 bil. years old. I can sort of get 13.7 bil. years old but, 84 lt. yrs across is just too much to fathom!
