Moon - Waxing Gibbous

Unread post by rjbokleman »

In addition to the M71 image taken on 6/26, I also grabbed several of the Moon while I was waiting for darkness to settle in. Shot with the Celestron Omni 150 XLT for field of view reference to my other two scopes. You'll note the very nice deep dark blue sky as the background as it wasn't quite fully dark at the time. No coma issues here since the object is dead center and it looks like my collimation is dead on as well.

I hope folks aren't growing tired of these Moon shots. Here I managed to mix in some further artistic / framing quality I think. I had a lot of fun playing Russian Roulette with the clouds tonight after shooting Jupiter & Venus. (I'll post those later on.) Man was the dew heavy too...

I put the Moon in the upper left hand corner of the frame in my SV60EDS on purpose and was hoping I'd get a chance to have the Moon peak through. Timing is everything and I hope you'll agree, it was worth the wait!
