Capella
Ok! I finally got an image tonight with my Omni XLT 150 Newtonian mounted on the AVX using the Canon T5i. Used Backyard EOS, 10 x 15 second, ISO 400 stacked with DSS. Processed with Pixelmator.

Got a good alignment with the mount tonight and finally got the camera to focus. Small, but important first steps!

Re: Capella
I also got a few of M44 last night as well, but toward the end the clouds rolled me over. One thing though on this image...given that it's a Newtonian, I've got to remember to rotate the image 180 degrees before I post it.
I'm assuming you've got to flip the mirror image too if you shot using a Refractor. Otherwise things won't look like they would with the naked eye.

Re: Capella
No worries Ron, there's no such thing as right-side-up in space.

Re: Capella
That's true. I just posted M44 as well. Looks like I was a little off to the right of center, but that's the way it goes! Same scope, same setup.

Very nice imaging Ron, it looks like we can have a whole group discussion just on imaging and we have many talented imagers in the group that could take some of these "Pros" to school !! Keep it going Ron

Re: Capella
These images are coming along nicely Ron. Tack sharp is hard to do and you're there already.
FWIW, orientation convention is N up and E left. But as Mike pointed out, and as I tell my students, there is no "up" in space. And when framing an image composition can take precedence over convention.
