"Flaming Star" Nebula, IC405 in H-alpha

IC405, an emission/reflection nebula surrounding the star AE Aurigae (bright star to the right of the center). Imaged here with a narrowband Hydrogen Alpha filter.

Andy I have run out of adjectives to describe all the wonderful images you have provided to this site. All of them are inspiring, what ever you do , don't stop sending them for all of us to enjoy :P :P

14+ hours of exposure! And I'll bet you've got almost the same amount of processing time invested. No one will ever accuse you of having a short attention span Andy.

Thanks, guys!

Pete, yes, the data collection and the processing are both very time consuming! The processing on this one went a little quicker since it was monochrome. For LRGB and Hubble palette, I do much of the most time-consuming processing on the individual L/R/G/B or S/H/O masters before combining them and doing more processing on the color image.
