NGC 2403 from Frosty Drew
NGC 2403 from Frosty Drew
Last Friday I went down to Frosty Drew. It was REALLY cold, about 20 degrees, with a steady gusty winds. I was regretting my decision to lug all my imaging gear down there since I was having a hard time calibrating guiding in the wind. The forecast was for the wind to die down so I decided to hang around and wait to see if it would. Luckily, the wind did eventually die down, leaving plenty of time left for imaging. I shot a few targets which I had already started shooting at home. Here is one of them, NGC 2403, a spiral galaxy in Camelopardalis.

Very beautiful, Andy!! Also very humbling considering the conditions.

Thanks for the explanation Andy. They're always so "photogenic",
I thought there was a little more to it!
Maybe I've been using refractors too long!

Beautiful, Andy. Truly spectacular. Sorry for not responding sooner. Couldn't remember my pw.
I haven't seen your "group of galaxies" thread yet, but I'm sure it will elicit at least as many kudos as here, so I will just look at it, drop my jaw again, and go to bed.
See you tomorrow night I hope!
