Got a little Lucky

Unread post by DonB »

I couldn't get the conjunction in the scope but I tried something a little different, or at least a first for me. I tried to hide the moon behind clouds while increasing the exposure for Saturn. The image is a 300mm lens on a Cannon DSLR with ISO of 400 and 1/5 of a second exposure.

Image

The second image is pure luck as I was setting up and snapping a few shots to warm up. I think I see Saturn in this image as well.

This is a lot of fun. :!: :!: :!: :!:

Nice Don, using the DSLR is a great way to get into imaging. I have been using various astro cameras for a couple years and am also trying a modded Canon Rebel with a zoom lens. Is your 300mm a zoom or fixed?

Yes, the 300 mm lens is a zoom. Bill, I need to learn how to stack and stich in photoshop. I gotta work on that. Thanks all. :!: :!: :!:
