A Still of the Sky in Motion

Saw this somewhere, thought I'd give it a try. While the sky wasn't as dramatic as it can be sometimes, the results are still pretty cool.

Details: Location - Lake Nippenicket, Camera - Kodak Z760, Exposure - set by camera, 40+ frames @ 20 second intervals, assembled in Star Trails http://www.startrails.de/html/software.html

I found it interesting how fast the plane contrail was moving across the sky, as evidenced by "stairstep" pattern".

Beautiful, Mike. I like the effect and the colors are gorgeous.

Thanks Guys! The great thing about this technique is that the colors are picked up naturally through combining all the photos. Loking forward to trying some more.
