New Photo Op! New Comet C/2013 UQ4 Catalina w/ MAP!

Unread post by WCGucfa »

Guys,
In case you haven't heard, an asteroid turned comet is quickly brightening, and headed for
visibility in our hemisphere in early July. It is known as a "Damocloid." Official designation is 2013 UQ4 Catalina
I've already got it renamed to Number 36! Read all about it on spaceweather.com and set your camera to ready.
It is expected to reach magnitude 7 by July 10.

Bill G.

Recognize these constellations? Notice the path to the left. This is where the comet will be on the nights of July 8 - to 11th. EASY PICKENS! Latest
is that it will be mag. 7. However, my mapping program is saying 11th mag. The bottom line is, who knows!? Who knew an asteroid would become a comet??
Better maps to come as these dates approach. --Bill G.

Yes Mike, we ARE kindred spirits.
I wanted to make sure those cameras are greased up! We both wanted to make sure everyone
knows about this. Mission accomplished!
I'm trying not to get too excited after our experiences with ISON, but its not working!
