NGC6888 Crescent from MSSF

Unread post by bluemax »

After a dewy night at MSSF I found a new object which my wife calls "The Yellow Stringbean". Actually, it is NGC6888 the Cresent but I couldn't seem to get it to come out red during processing. At least I got round stars and plenty of them! Thanks to Matt for organizing the event.

80MM APO with Atik 428EX about 14 minutes total and no darks, flats, bias used.....just color converted, stacked, and a bunch of CS3 Photoshop work.

UPDATE::::HERE IS THE CRESENT WITH PROPER PROCESSING!

Very nice Frank! I love the round stars across the field, your tracking is perfect and you certainly cannot complain about the optics on that SV80.

I don't think you could have done better on this very difficult target with all the ambient light. Nice job, Frank.
