Registax Question

Unread post by Apollo XX »

Does anybody know why Registax divided my stack into clearly definable pie pieces? Backstory; I was playing with a bunch of JPEG's from a pocket camera that I used to snap some photos of the sun through the eyepiece. I reasoned that stacking them might result in a better single image, so I cropped them all as close as I could by eye and stacked them in Registax. There is a definite improvement in resolution, but the funky shapes of different brightness regions are a mystery. AutoStakkert was much less kind, rendering a messy abstract gradient instead of clear lines. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Mike,
I don't know enough about either program to suggest how to fix it. I do follow the autostakkert yahoo group and it is very active, and I bet if you posted the question there (as to why AS gave you a mess) you might get some answers.

Mike,
I don't know the answer, but I have gotten the same results in RegiStax, and also can't figure out why.
