Hi Bill,
The image I see is a partial lunar halo at the top, cut off moon at the bottom, the way it comes up on my screen.
Is your original image supposed to be a full halo with the moondogs on each side?
I love this kind of stuff!

I'm confused as to what you actually saw. Moondogs look like mock moons on either or both sides
of the moon, attached to a lunar halo.
Sundogs look like mock Suns on either side of the Sun.
Better description: Balls of rainbow colored light, accompanying a halo.
If what you saw encircled the moon, it may have been a 22 degree lunar halo.
Whatever you saw Bill, I wish I had the luck to have seen it/them, also!
