Comet ISON C/2012 S1: Where's the Blame?

Unread post by WCGucfa »

I'm writing this to relieve my guilt. Some comet hunter I am!
Here I sit, bright eyed and bushy tailed. As predicted, the morning pre-dawn sky cleared
marvelously! I actually arose at my planned 0230 hours and gazed out the bathroom window in
happy awe.
My ISON hunting maps were still warm from the printer. All systems GO!!!!
Then: Hmmmm. Perhaps one more half hour of sleep would be nice! If the sky
was still clear in another half hour it would mean it was going to STAY clear (?) (the logic of a sleepwalker)
and I wouldn't be fruitlessly hauling two TONS of equipment (actually 55+ pounds) out in the yard for nothing.
Ahhhh. The bed feels soooo warm! Visions of sugar plums (actually Oreos) dance in my head.
Suddenly, it's 0610 hours!!!! What happened! My ISON hunting maps are COLD!!! I'M COLD, and haven't
even been outside!
I make a hot cup of tea, sit back and think how I could have prevented this from happening. Perhaps I should
have gone to bed at 8 p. m. last night instead of 11 or stopped staring at the cloud radar sooner.
Maybe I shouldn't have gone to Rehoboth Skies and had such an incredibly GREAT TIME with my like-minded friends!
There it is! Rehoboth skies! But it was SO worth the lost sleep. ISON will be there next week.
The comet can wait, but time with good friends is the finest tasting wine of life, never to be put aside.
Rehoboth Skies. A wonderful job by all!!

I think it was to much dreaming of Sandra Bullock. I told you last night Bill to put her out of your mind.

Bill, you and I are to determined to catch this comet before it rounds or crashes into the sun so one of us will get it soon. I must admit that I was to tired after working the night before and getting little sleep during the day Saturday and then finally RS. By the time I got home I was to tired to set up the Mistress and just called it a night.

Uh, so where are the pictures of Comet Ison as contracted for Rehoboth Skies 2014?

Loved the narrative, Bill, and so true about being with everyone last night.

Your day will come with ISON too, Paul. I can't even imagine what this great comet
will look like in a 16"!! The good thing? The longer we wait (for now) the brighter it gets!
I'm going for Enke and Lovejoy too! Gotta get over that #"35" hump!

Good seeing you and everyone last night.

Bill
P.S. Man! Sandra looks great weightless!

Thanks for the kind words, Bill... and it was a pleasure using some of your pix. Hey, when's the next AA meeting?

DISCLAIMER: As far as I know, Bill is not an alcoholic. This was just a playful reference to a comment made at the meeting last night by an irresponsible presenter.

@Tom,

I don't remember any of it! Gee, maybe I didn't just fall asleep last night.
Who drove me home? I DID sense a loss of  Gravity.
